The Unexpected Success of Sneex: A Revolutionary High Heeled Sneaker
By Sarah Wasilak

When we think of high heels, we often associate them with discomfort and pain. But what if I told you that there is a brand that has successfully combined fashion and comfort in the form of a high heeled sneaker? Yes, you read that right – a high heeled sneaker! And this revolutionary creation is none other than Sneex, brought to us by the innovative mind of Sara Blakely, the inventor of Spanx.

Sneex was not created intentionally as a sneaker heel. According to a brand representative, Sara Blakely set out to create the most comfortable high heel in the world, and that’s how the idea for Sneex came to be. The brand has taken the fashion industry by storm, with their first design, The Tepper in Silver, selling out in just 24 hours after its launch. It also gained an 11,000-person waitlist, and one-third of customers have already invested in a second pair. It’s no surprise that the brand has caught the attention of celebrities like Jane Fonda, Sofía Vergara, Reese Witherspoon, and Suki Waterhouse.

So, what makes Sneex so special? The secret lies in their meticulous design process. The brand has focused on creating a shoe that not only looks stylish but also offers unparalleled comfort. This is achieved through a wider toe box, 50/50 weight distribution between the ball and heel, and a smaller gap between the heel and toe for stability. And the best part? These shoes come in full sizes from 5-11, catering to a wide range of customers.

Sneex currently offers three different styles – The Icon, with a wide band at the upper and five colorways; The Blake, with two suede velcro straps and four colorways; and The Tepper, with a single velcro strap and three colorways. The heel measures at 78mm, which is just over three inches, making it a perfect height for daily wear. The shoes are made in Spain, with a rubber-like sole that has tracking at the toe for added grip. The lining is made of 100% napa leather, and the brand also offers silk ankle socks or no-show socks for a lightweight option with the right grip to prevent sliding.

But what sets Sneex apart from other heels in the market is its equal focus on functionality and style. The brand believes that women should not have to sacrifice comfort for fashion, and Sneex is a testament to that. As we enter 2025, the demand for such shoes is only expected to grow.

Recently, Sneex has released two new colorways for spring – The Blake in Lavender and the Icon in Sand. I had the opportunity to try on The Icon in Sand on a lovely spring day, and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. Not only did they look stylish, but they were also the most comfortable high heels I had ever worn. They provided the perfect balance of support and bounce to my steps, making it enjoyable to walk in them. And the best part? I didn’t experience any discomfort or blisters, even after wearing them for an extended period.

But before you make your purchase, there are a few things to consider. Unfortunately, Sneex only goes up to a size 11, and they do not come in half sizes. However, the brand has provided a helpful sizing guide on their website, recommending customers to size down to the next whole size if in-between sizes. Personally, I found that the size 7 fit me better, even though I am usually a 6.5.

Moreover, the aesthetic of Sneex leans towards a sporty-casual look rather than a fancy-elegant one. So, they might not be suitable for events like black-tie weddings or upscale dinners unless you’re feeling adventurous with your fashion choices. Also, while the price point may seem high for a casual shoe, the comfort and quality of Sneex truly speak for themselves, making it a worthy investment.

Sneex is available for purchase on their website, and they offer free ground shipping for orders over $50. They also have a four interest-free installment plan, making it easier for customers to invest in these revolutionary shoes. They also have a 14-day return and exchange policy, with a $15 shipping fee on returns.
